Solid tacos at a very reasonable price. The Barbacoa taco was flavored well and tender without being crazy greasy. The pork was very tasty with nice spice level. The tortillas are on the thicker side and we’re good, but I prefer thinner ones. Salsa were both good but I wish the green was as hot as the red because I liked it’s bright flavor better. I would be happy to go back but would not go out of my way to get there.
Quick, nice people and reasonable Tuesday pricing! I liked the ground beef and steak tacos. I felt the chicken was a little dry. But for the price, it was not a big deal.
Excellent breakfast tacos at a reasonable price. 2 tacos for $4.50, and I was full. Note: the corn tortillas are store bought, the flour tortillas are homemade. Go for the flour. 😋 …
Everyone was so kind and accommodating to me, as I do not speak very much Spanish. I explained exactly what I had wanted and they gave it to me. Their food tasted exactly how my Madrina used to make it when I lived in Corpus Christi (10+ years ago).
10/10 and I will definitely be back.
I got chorizo, eggs, and potato tacos
And eggs con salsa with sausage taco.
My new go-to spot for breakfast tacos. The tortillas, I think, are hand & they are quick. Good price and nice quiet atmosphere. The parking is tight but for the location they can’t do much about that. I’ve only had breakfast tacos so if your looking for a good, quick bite for breakfast I recommend trying it out.
Monchy's Taco Spot is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Mexican cuisine. This cozy little spot, tucked away in a corner of town, serves up some of the best tacos I've ever had. What sets Monchy's apart from other taco places is their homemade tortillas. These tortillas are made fresh daily and add an extra layer of flavor and texture to the already delicious tacos.
The Tuesday special is a steal, offering $1 tacos from 11am to 1pm. It's a great way to try a variety of tacos without breaking the bank. And believe me, you'll want to try them all. The menu offers a wide selection of meats, from the traditional carne asada to the less common lengua (beef tongue). Each taco is topped with fresh cilantro and onions, and you can add salsa or guacamole to give it an extra kick.
But it's not just the tacos that are great at Monchy's.
Overall, I highly recommend Monchy's Taco Spot. The homemade tortillas alone are worth a visit, but the delicious food and affordable prices make it a must-try spot for any taco lover. Don't forget to stop by on Tuesdays for the $1 taco special!
I have been looking for an awesome taco spot like Guadalajara bakery on Washington since it closed. I have no idea what I was doing in this area but I'm glad I was. If your looking for enchiladas and oversized Tex mex plates, you're at the wrong place. It's basically a taco spot that makes tortillas in house. I tried the tortillas de harina and they are delicious. You get to pick what kind of filling from the variety of Mexican meats, which include carne guizada, barbacoa and fajita( which has grilled jalapeños and sausage) it totally works. I did add refried beans to my tacos. Delicious! I hate that I live so far. I would come here at least 3 times a week if I could. So many more meats to try.
I saw this had good reviews and thought I had found a winner for some authentic Mexican breakfast tacos and plates. I was really wanting some huevos rancheros or Chilaquiles but all they have was tacos and it's a buffet line. You just pick what kind of tacos you want and have option to have rice and beans. So I saw they had barbacoa and I asked for some but she said, they ran out, ok so I see carnitas and noplaes which I enjoy together on 1 taco. There was only a little bit of nopales left and she said they didn't have anymore. Disappointing. She didn't even say there's a 5 minute wait, which I could have done. It was fairly early in the morning sure I couldn't believe they weren't making anymore barbacoa or Nopales. But I was really hungry so i just got carnitas rice and beans and the rice looked good but had no flavor neither did the beans the carnitas were o.k but I wouldn't go back. There's taco trucks with much better carnitas and tortillas. Also the whole place smelled like a Mexican outhouse!!! I felt gross just sitting there.
